Negotiations Executive

Prospect Midlands office, Lutterworth, Leicestershire – Permanent Contract
£42,692 – £50,974

Prospect is looking for an experienced negotiating executive to provide individual and collective representation, support and advice to members and branches in order to meet their needs and ensure successful outcomes.

The postholder will be responsible for undertaking personal casework representation and support collective representation for a number of member branches and regional members who are not in a workplace branch. Member branches will include members working in a variety of private sector employers including energy, aviation and science sectors as well as small amount of public sector work.

You will need to:

  • Act calmly and professionally in negotiations to meet members’ needs
  • Deal effectively with personal casework supporting and advising members
  • Demonstrate leadership and be prepared to take ownership when dealing with difficulties such as when negotiating with employers and providing advocacy.
  • Communicate effectively with colleagues, reps, members and employers
  • Have strong planning, organising, analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Manage personal autonomy whilst working across boundaries to sustain relationships with employers, groups of members and colleagues
  • Be willing to travel and have a current driving license
  • Want to make the world of work better for everyone through promoting membership and the values of the trade union movement.
