How will my pension contributions be affected by being on furlough?

Last updated: 25 Nov 2020

Under the Coronavirus Job Retention Scheme extension from 1 November 2020, the grant employers receive will cover 80% of regular pay (up to the cap of £2,500 per month).

However, it will not cover either employer National Insurance contributions or employer pension contributions, and employers will have to pay these amounts themselves.
