Using vehicles for work

Last updated: 06 Apr 2020

Employers should consider how workers travel to jobs. Wherever possible, workers should be the only person in the vehicle. If having more than one person in the vehicle is unavoidable, journeys should be kept as short as possible and good hygiene practices should be followed. If possible, vehicles should not be shared between workers.

Vehicles should be regularly and thoroughly cleaned. Particular attention should be paid to areas that are frequently touched, such as the keys, the steering wheel, the gear stick, indicator controls and so on.
