The total deal is worth £11.4 million and will be weighted so that, in general, those at the lower end of the pay scale get a higher pay rise with the deal being worth 7.74% for National Trust’s lowest paid workers.

Another significant achievement in the pay deal is that across all pay grades, the median rate is now at or above the market average putting National Trust on the way to being a market leader in pay.

Lisa Browne, Prospect negotiator, said:

“This is great news for Prospect members and testament to the quality of the work done by reps at National Trust, and to the positive engagement from management.

“National Trust is one of the most prestigious cultural organisations in the UK and the rewards you receive for working there should echo that. This substantial pay deal means National Trust are now paying at or above the market average across all grades which is something we have been working towards with them for some years now.”

Paul Delaney, President of Prospect’s National Trust branch, added:

“It’s been a  tough few years for everyone in the heritage sector so this pay deal is hugely welcome. National Trust have engaged with Prospect positively on pay and we hope to continue this relationship in the years to come.

“Everyone who works here does so because we love our jobs and we love our role in preserving the UK’s cultural heritage, it is good that National Trust have recognised our commitment to the success of the organisation with this deal.”
