During Heart Unions Week 2026, Prospect and BCS, The Chartered Institute for IT, hosted a powerful webinar on Gender Equality in Tech. BCS trustee Jo Stansfield and TUC Assistant General Secretary Kate Bell spoke at the webinar which featured compelling contributions from tech members about their experiences. The webinar laid bare the challenges that women face in the tech sector and explored how an inclusive and fair industry can be built.

At the end of 2025, the government announced that it would create a Women in Tech Taskforce to help remove gender barriers in the tech industry. To gather information on what is needed to do this, the taskforce is running a consultation. Earlier this year, Prospect facilitated a discussion where a taskforce representative heard first‑hand from members working in the tech sector. We will now build on that engagement by feeding into their consultation.
