Reps part 2: handling personal cases
This course will give you the skills and knowledge to represent your local members with their personal cases. After completing both Reps 1: key skills and Reps 2: handling cases the union will accredit you to represent members at formal meetings and hearings.

Who is the course for?
Any Rep who has completed part 1 or the ‘Effective health and safety’ course. This course is focused on how to represent members with their personal cases. From September 2025, it is mandatory for any rep seeking to be a union case handler to have completed Reps 1 & Reps 2 before they can commence any personal case activity.

What will I learn?
- How to confidently represent members and their personal cases
- What you can/can’t do in informal/formal meetings
- Learn more about the laws, policies and agreements that shape union representation.
- Completion of both Reps part 1 (Key Skills) and Reps part 2 (Handling cases) will accredit you on behalf of the union.
- Once signed off by your dedicated Negotiation Officer, you’ll receive accreditation letters for you to verify your case handler status.
