IT security incident

19 June 2025

We would like to inform our members that Prospect recently experienced an IT security incident. There has been no significant operational impact, and the Union has continued to support members in its usual way.

To proactively manage the incident, we immediately took steps to protect our systems and have engaged with external experts who are experienced in dealing with these matters. Together with our experts, we are investigating what could have happened with members and employees at the forefront of our priorities.

We have also reported the matter to the Information Commissioners Office, and we are working with the Police.

There is no action that any members need to take at this time. However, out of an abundance of caution and in the interest of transparency, we wanted to act early to make members aware of this incident and the action we are taking to manage it.

We will update members as the investigation progresses, if and when there are relevant new findings. In the meantime, we encourage all members to continue to contact Prospect if you need our support, via all our usual channels.

As our investigation is still in its early stages, and we do not have all the answers regarding what has happened. However, if you have any urgent concerns, please email [email protected] and we will do our best to help answer your questions.
