Prospect secures pay increases for workers in VMO2 and O2 Daisy
Prospect has secured two significant wins for Prospect members in the tech and telecoms sector, with workers at both VMO2 and O2 Daisy voting overwhelmingly to accept improved pay offers.
Following negotiations between VMO2 and Prospect representatives, the branch recommended acceptance of a 3% across‑the‑board increase to all salaries and allowances. Members backed the recommendation decisively, with 85% voting in favour. The increase will be implemented in April.
Prospect VMO2 Branch Chair Craig Ashton said:
“After constructive discussions with the company we were pleased to reach a final offer we could recommend to members. VMO2 have committed to continue talks on pay for our represented grades in VMO2 Retail and on the gender pay gap. We believe there is still progress to be made in these areas and we will keep members updated on those discussions.”
Prospect members working at O2 Daisy also voted to accept a 3% across‑the‑board pay rise, with 84% supporting the offer. The increase will also take effect in April.
Lead rep at O2 Daisy, Mike Russell, said:
“The business has faced several challenges since its creation last summer, and the branch was therefore pleased to reach a pay agreement it could confidently recommend to members, providing them with the certainty of a 3% rise.”
These back‑to‑back wins demonstrate the strength of collective action in the tech and telecoms sector. It also shows the impact Prospect members can have when they stand together for fair pay and better working conditions.
