‘Brexit Freedoms’ Bill is a distraction from real issues of the day

31 January 2022

To mark the two-year anniversary of Brexit, the Prime Minister is bringing forward a new ‘Brexit Freedoms’ Bill.

Prospect General Secretary Mike Clancy said:

“The future success of the UK economy will come from raising productivity and investing in the transition to high-skilled, digital jobs, not false promises to cut red-tape.

“No-one is clamouring for a bonfire of red tape, not business nor unions. This is a Westminster distraction from the Prime Minister’s own political troubles. Instead, we need government focussed on its promises to deliver a high-wage economy, with high-skilled jobs in every part of the country.”
