DfE consultation on safeguarding children revisions
A consultation on recent revisions to the statutory guidance on “Working Together to Safeguard Children”, has been launched by the Department for Education.
“Working Together to Safeguard Children” is the multi-agency guidance that sets out expectations for the system that provides help, support and protection for children and their families.
It provides leaders and individuals working in the system clarity about what is required of them and how they need to work in partnership with each other to deliver effective services.
In February 2023, the government published Stable Homes, Built on Love, which set out a plan to transform children’s social care, and is the biggest update to “Working Together to Safeguard Children” since 2018.
More information about the planned changes to “Working Together to Safeguard Children” under the four headings: A shared endeavour; Multi-agency safeguarding arrangements; Help and support for children and their families; and Decisive multi-agency child protection can be found on the consultation website.
The consultation ends on 6 September.
