Guardian Public Leaders site: a space for specialists
Prospect has welcomed an opportunity to forge closer links with The Guardian newspaper’s Public Leaders Network, an online resource for senior managers across all public services.
Prospect head of research Sue Ferns is to write a monthly blog for the network’s website. In March it featured an article by deputy general secretary Dai Hudd on regional pay and reported the launch of Prospect’s document Government That Can – needs people who know how.
Launched in May 2009, a key focus of the network has been the issue of skills and expertise within government and how this informs policy-making. It is also highlighting the impact of budget cuts on expertise, resources and services across the public sector.
The site’s editor Jane Dudman said: “We are delighted to be working more closely with Prospect to highlight these issues on the Public Leaders Network and to provide an online space for high-level debate about the nature of policy-making and the role of specialist and professional expertise. We invite all Prospect members to join our network and to join in the debate.”
Sue Ferns added: “We welcome the chance to share the concerns and issues of Prospect specialists through this site.”
Joining the network is free and takes only a minute – sign up here.
