New contracts at Draken highlight need for better pay deal

29 January 2025

Minister Maria Eagle visited Draken in Teeside on 29 January to announce a contract extension and a new contract at the aerospace company.

She met Prospect members who are currently engaged in industrial action at the company in a dispute about pay, which has not kept up with industry competitors.

Ian Kelly, Prospect Negotiator, said:

“The signing of these contracts makes it all the more important that Draken gets back around the table with a genuine offer our members can accept.

“Pay is so far behind competitors that people are already starting to vote with their feet and leave – if this continues Draken will struggle to continue to deliver on its contractual obligations.

“I would also like to thank the Minister on behalf of Prospect and our members for taking the time to meet with us on her visit.”
