Prospect’s position on the 2025 Pay Remit Guidance
Last week, Prospect’s Public Services Sector Executive Committee (PSSEC) met and agreed the union’s position on the Pay Remit Guidance (PRG) 2025 for delegated grades.
Following the announcement of the Pay Remit Guidance in May, departments will be able to make average awards up to 3.25% and have flexibility to use an extra 0.5% targeted to workforce issues.
At Prospect’s recent PSSEC meeting, representatives have agreed to support Prospect branches and officers entering delegated pay negotiations with the following objectives:
- For the full value of 3.25% and 0.5% to be on the table in all negotiations and our teams will seek the best outcome of distribution of that best addresses our members needs in each organisation.
- To press employers to work with us to make Pay Flexibility cases. There has been a reluctance and lack of ambition from too many employers and a lack of transparency when cases have been made.
- To engage meaningfully on equal pay – through reviewing existing pay setting, negotiations over the PRG and where necessary Pay Flexibility or through equal pay cases.
Prospect will continue to ask for urgent talks to take place over setting a long-term pay framework that addresses the lack of pay and reward strategy, pay progression and a lack of competitive specialist pay compared to private sector comparators.
