Dear colleagues

Prospect activity during the period of UK mourning

Prospect has recorded our condolences following the death of Her Majesty the Queen. Her lifetime of public service was part of our lives, and generated respect from people in the UK and across the world.

As a mark of our respect, Prospect and Bectu will be suspending campaigning activities in the immediate mourning period. However, we will continue our normal daily work for members in a sensitive manner.

You should continue to respond to member enquiries and offer assistance where it is needed. If any issues arise with your employer or engager, please raise them with your Full Time Official in the first instance.

We would ask you to be respectful in what you communicate over the coming days, as we would do with any family in a period of mourning.

We will update you via the websites, as details of the mourning period become clearer, and what that will mean for resumption of more visible union activities, such as events and campaigning.

Yours sincerely

Mike Clancy, Prospect General Secretary
