An independent voice for employees at Rolls-Royce SMR

Prospect are in a developing relationship with Rolls Royce SMR, we sit on their Let’s Talk Forum with representatives from our sister trade union Unite.

We have good relations with Unite and work with them and many employers across the nuclear sector. We want to continue that working relationship in Rolls-Royce SMR and have held talks on defining areas of responsibility.

Currently Unite have consultation rights for colleagues in grades 4 & 5 excluding enabling functions in areas such as IT, Finance and HR. While we respect that we have requested there is a full discussion on this issue once the proposed grading structure is agreed and implemented across Rolls-Royce SMR.

It is anticipated a newly structured grading system will be implemented by the end of Q1 2024. In the meantime, we have suggested we are given consultation rights for grade 4/5 colleagues in enabling who fall outside of Unites remit and grade 3 colleague.

We await a response from Rolls Royce-SMR which should provide clarity to colleagues.
