Belfast march for a better and fairer way, 20 October

11 September 2012

On Saturday 20 October 2012, hundreds of thousands of people will take to the streets of London, Edinburgh and Belfast to protest at the coalition government’s unworkable policies.

The Northern Ireland Committee of the Irish Congress of Trade Unions said the policies have delivered nothing more than a double-dip recession and an increase in fear and uncertainty for workers, employers and the most marginalised – the very poorest, the disabled and the jobless young.

It calls on working people, people on benefits and all citizens of goodwill to register their opposition to the cruel and unnecessary economic policies of the Tory-led coalition government.

The Belfast march assembles at the College of Art Gardens, York Street, Belfast at 11am, moving off at 11.30am. A rally will be held at Custom House Square at 12.15. See the Irish Congress of Trade Unions Northern Ireland Committee website for more information.
