CAA must prioritise skills and pay for Brexit plans
Prospect has responded to reports that the Civil Aviation Authority is making contingency plans for a ‘no-deal’ Brexit.
Prospect national secretary, Steve Jary, has said:
“Prospect, the leading union for staff in the CAA, is calling for continued membership of the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA). Despite reassurances from the government there still have been no firm commitments or agreements made.
“The CAA needs to be mindful of the huge skills shortage it is dealing with and that pay is also another factor making recruitment almost impossible. While the ambition to be prepared for all-scenarios of Brexit is welcome, the CAA needs to address these pressing concerns to get its contingency plans right.”
