Flexi-time is an example of government efficiency that the minister responsible for it could learn from
Prospect has hit back at reports that Jacob Rees-Mogg, the Minister for Government Efficiency, has attacked the use of flexi-time in the Civil Service.
Mike Clancy, General Secretary, said:
“Flexi-time is an example of government efficiency that the minister responsible for it could learn from.
“It is a sensible policy used across the private and public sectors that sees workers able to put in additional work when the need is greatest and, in place of overtime, take those hours back when their workload allows.
“It also helps the civil service attract and retain the best staff by allowing staff to work around caring and other commitments.
“It’s quite rich for a minister whose government has been AWOL all summer, while we face the greatest cost of living crisis for a generation, to accuse others of skiving.”
