NFER visits ECS group executive council meeting
Prospect was pleased to welcome Jude Hillary from the National Foundation for Educational Research to our Group Executive Council meeting recently.
Prospect, and its predecessor unions, have had a long established relationship working with NFER.
Prospect national secretary Steve Thomas said: “We both share the same values of improving the outcomes for future generations through the amount and quality of education that children and young people receive.”
Jude, the NFER’s quantitative research director, gave a fascinating and wide-ranging talk to Prospect’s GEC on a wide range of areas, including trial management and policy evaluation.
In addition, he shared the NFER key topics programme, many of which overlap with the Prospect ECS GEC priority areas for policy:
- Accountability
- Assessment
- Workforce
- Social Mobility
- School Funding
- Systems and Structures
- Classroom Practice
- Education to Employment
