Prospect responds to Pension Schemes Bill

Responding to the publication of the Government’s Pension Schemes Bill, Mike Clancy, Prospect General Secretary, said:

“Today’s publication of the Government’s Pension Schemes Bill will be welcome news to our members who have long-awaited action on this area.

“The proposals to consolidate Defined Contribution schemes to improve saver’s returns and to merge smaller pension pots are especially welcome and represent important steps in driving-up worker’s retirement savings.

“As the Bill progresses through Parliament, Prospect will closely examine the full set of proposals to ensure that our member’s interests are fully protected and are a central focus of the reforms”.
