Prospect Scotland takes to the road for Union Week

30 September 2016

Prospect the Union representing tens of thousands of members across Scotland in the public sector, engineering, science and communications, is holding a week long engagement and recruitment event with its members in Scotland from October 3rd.

Using the strapline “Coffee With Prospect”, the Union is encouraging members to join us for coffee at a number of events across Scotland, where they can discuss their concerns and issues at work with us.
“We’re living through some of the most turbulent political times we have seen in a generation” said Prospect Negotiator Richard Hardy “our members have real concerns about Brexit, the possibility of IndyRef2, Austerity and many other issues. We hope that by getting out to talk to members we can listen to their concerns, help them understand the current positions on issues and be in a position to represent our members views”.
Prospect has events planned at Scottish Power in Glasgow, at Faslane Naval Base, Dounreay Nuclear Research Facility, a large number of Scottish Government offices, and Rosyth Dockyard to name a few.
“We hope to be in a position to raise the Unions profile, but just as importantly be as informed as we can be about members’ views and concerns so we can reflect these in our discussions with employers and Government” concluded Hardy.
