Prospect wins recognition at Nokia

12 October 2026

Staff working at Nokia in the UK have voted to recognise Prospect as their trade union in a statutory recognition ballot.  This means Prospect is now recognised to negotiate on behalf of members for collective bargaining purposes.

The Finnish company, which builds and maintains network infrastructure for clients including Vodafone, Three, BT and the MoD, employs over 700 staff in the UK with sites at Bristol, Reading and Cambridge. In the ballot 81% of staff voted in favour of recognising Prospect. The turnout was 55%.

Prospect also recently won a recognition ballot at SkyScanner and signed an access agreement with Meta.

Andrew Sturtevant, Assistant National Secretary of Prospect, said:

“The outcome of this ballot is testament to the work of Prospect members in building their branch and campaigning for recognition.

“Union recognition not only gives members a stronger collective voice with their employer, but can also provide a framework for positive engagement between an employer and their staff.

“We look forward to working with Nokia and our members to build that constructive relationship.
