Union speaks out on reported changes at Public Health England

Prospect has spoken out on behalf of members working at Public Health England. Leaked media reports have suggested the agency is set to re restructured or abolished.

Mike Clancy, Prospect General Secretary, said:

“We are urgently engaging with PHE on behalf of our members who work there. Government should stop leaking major changes like this to selected media outlets and make proper announcements to the public and their staff – they deserve better than this.

“Our members in PHE and across the public sector have been working tirelessly throughout the pandemic seeking to keep the country safe. Many will question whether this restructuring during while the pandemic continues is the most effective use of both time and resources.”
