Introduction to equalities

Prospect is committed to ensuring our workplace representatives have the skills and knowledge they need to carry out their trade union role effectively and to the best of their ability.

This course is designed to help you progress in your role as a Prospect rep and to deepen your knowledge and understanding of equality issues at work.

Who is the course for?

Any rep who has attended Reps part 1 who is interested in deepening their knowledge and understanding of equality in their branch.

What will I learn?

• An understanding of some of the key equality issues in UK workplaces today
• An understanding of some of the key provisions in the Equality Act relating to employment and the legal obligations on employers
• An understanding of why trade union members have a key role to play in raising awareness and challenging discrimination at work.
