One of the key things every member can do is talk to their colleagues about joining Prospect – and we will give you a reward for every colleague you recruit to Prospect.

Remember, the more members we have, the more effective we can be – it gives Prospect greater influence with employers to drive forward positive change at work.

For every colleague you recruit, you can choose one of the following incentives:

• Option 1: £10 Lifestyle voucher.
• Option 2: £10 donation to Trussell Trust, War Child  or Help for Heroes (please specify).
• Option 3: £10 donation to our benevolent fund, which helps members in financial difficulty.

Colleagues can join online – please ask them to complete the “recruited by” section by including your name or membership number as the recruiter on the join form so that you receive your incentive.

How does the member recruit member scheme work?

Throughout the year Prospect operates the member recruit member (MRM) scheme where members who are recorded as recruiting a new member can receive a voucher or make a donation to the Union’s Benevolent Fund. From April 2026 vouchers will be issued to recruiting members every two months instead of monthly.

MRM vouchers will be issued to the named recruiting member for the new members once the direct debit is active and the first payment taken.

MRM does not apply if the member has previously been recruited via MRM scheme

MRM incentives can only be backdated 3 months.

MRM support will be withdrawn where member(s) use abusive or aggressive language or behaviour towards any Union representative or employee connected with any one MRM voucher. This includes behaviour which is contrary to Prospect’s Code of Conducts.

Complaints about the operation of the MRM scheme should be referred through our normal complaints procedure.
