Construction on Sizewell C free to start after Development Consent Order triggered

Construction of Sizewell C in Suffolk is a step closer after a Development Consent Order (DCO) was triggered.

This means that construction is now free to start on the site, safeguarding jobs and skills in the industry.

Sue Ferns, Senior Deputy General Secretary of Prospect, said:

“Commencing construction at Sizewell C will be a landmark moment in the UK’s nuclear story.

“Sizewell C will play a critical role in achieving a low carbon, secure energy future for our country – bringing with it good jobs in clean energy for decades to come.
