Natural England rep recognised with Leadership Award

22 June 2026

Prospect member and Natural England representative Adam Ramadan has been recognised for his outstanding contribution to colleagues and members after winning the Leadership Award at the Natural England People Awards.

Adam, who serves as Vice-Chair of the Joint Union Forum at Natural England, was nominated for his leadership, commitment to members and role in supporting colleagues through significant workplace change, including the successful negotiation and implementation of the recent Pay Flex agreement.

The nominations highlighted Adam’s professionalism, integrity and dedication to ensuring colleagues felt informed, supported and represented throughout complex negotiations. They also recognised his work supporting individual members, advocating for fairness, and helping to create an inclusive workplace culture.

Speaking after receiving the award, Adam said:

“Receiving the Leadership Award at this year’s Natural England People Awards was genuinely unexpected and a real honour. Whilst the certificate has my name on it, I don’t see it as an individual achievement. It reflects the support, trust and commitment of the colleagues and Prospect members I’ve had the privilege to work alongside.

“Union work often happens quietly behind the scenes, whether that’s supporting individual members, negotiating improvements, or helping colleagues understand complex issues and have their voices heard. Knowing that people felt that work was worth recognising means far more to me than the award itself.

“I’m incredibly grateful to everyone who nominated me, voted for me, and has taken the time to congratulate me. It’s a reminder of what can be achieved when people work together with respect, integrity and a shared commitment to improving working lives. I’m proud to represent Prospect members and look forward to continuing that work.”
