Prospect secures recognition agreement with Transport for Wales
Prospect has signed a new recognition agreement with Transport for Wales (TfW) for non-operational staff, marking a significant milestone after several years of engagement.
Discussions on the agreement began in 2018, with Prospect maintaining consistent dialogue with Welsh Government ministers and TfW representatives to reach this outcome. The agreement was formally signed in the presence of the Cabinet Secretary for North Wales and Transport, alongside members of the TfW Executive Leadership Team.
This agreement reflects the strength of social partnership working in Wales, built on collaboration, mutual respect and a shared commitment to fair work and positive industrial relations.
Alongside other recognised unions—TSSA, FDA, PCS, RMT and GMB—Prospect met with TfW on 8 May 2025 to progress a wider Social Partnership framework. This has now resulted in jointly agreed bargaining structures and the formalisation of a collective bargaining agreement.
The deal ensures Prospect members at TfW have a clear and recognised voice in the workplace, strengthening representation and supporting ongoing engagement on pay, conditions and workplace issues.
