Union Week 2023: Events for Prospect Energy branches

Our 6th annual Union Week event, where we encourage all our members to talk to their workplace colleagues about Prospect and the importance of joining a trade union, takes place from 6-12 November.

To make Union Week a success, we need as many members as possible to get involved. You can:

talk to your colleagues about why being a union member is valuable to you,
ask your friends and workmates if they would be interested in joining Prospect,
run an event in your workplace or office,
encourage your colleagues to join one of our Union Week webinars.

Energy branch events

We’re encouraging all our energy sector members to play their part as well. By helping us to grow our union, we can more effectively lobby, campaign and negotiate on your behalf.

Here’s some of the Union Week events planned by our Energy sector branches:

Monday 6 November

Ørsted West Coast hub: members drop-in and stand 1030-1500
OVO Energy in Bristol: Prospect will be launching its recognition campaign for non-joint agreement staff in the canteen
National Grid Electricity Distribution: branch conference with recruitment prize draw
Veolia Chineham: drop-in session, TBC
Scottish Power Prenton: lunchtime members catch-up
Sellafield, Risley Offices: Drop-in session and stand (PM)

Tuesday 7 November

RWE Swindon: Canteen stand 1100-1400
National Grid Electricity Distribution: branch conference with recruitment prize draw
Scottish Power, Lister Drive: lunchtime catch-up with Prospect officer
United Utilities, Haweswater, Lingley Mere: Prospect full-time officer Steven Roberts and branch reps will be onsite to meet members at Campaign Corner
SSE: online event at 12pm
Sellafield, Risley Offices: Drop-in session and stand (AM)
Westinghouse/ SFL: Drop in and stand at Robinson House, Westlakes Science Park

Wednesday 8 November
