Pride Cymru
Prospect members proudly took part in this year’s Pride Cymru parade in Cardiff on 13 June, marching in solidarity with the LGBTQ+ community alongside TUC Cymru and sister unions.

Showcasing unity and inclusion, we carried Prospect’s new bilingual banner as we made our way through the city centre. Members and colleagues from Prospect, Bectu and Cult Cymru joined the march, celebrating diversity and demonstrating our shared commitment to equality.
The atmosphere was vibrant and welcoming, with the parade offering an inclusive, family-friendly space where everyone could feel part of the celebration. Prospect’s presence was further highlighted with shout-outs during the parade from Heart Radio, helping amplify our message of support to a wider audience.
Earlier in the week, at Prospect’s National Conference, members reinforced this commitment by passing motions in support of the LGBTQ+ community. These decisions underline the union’s ongoing work to champion equality, diversity and inclusion across our workplaces and beyond. Save the date: North Wales Pride 18 July
Joanna Harley, an Equalities Rep at UKCEH is leading the Cymru Pride Wales (CPW) team organising Balchder Gogledd Cymru / North Wales Pride on 18 July.
This year, the grassroots event will be held for the first time in Holyhead and will combine the traditions of political protest and celebration of our vibrant and diverse community.
CPW are dedicated to building strong community ties to combat rural isolation and build a foundation of mutual support, so they are calling for support from allies on the day.
