We are the union for ambition. With 150,000 members from across a range of professions, including engineers, scientists, managers and civil servants.

Professional and specialist members working in areas such as curatorial, conservation, archaeology and visitor services.

Young workers
There has never been a more important time for young people to be in a trade union and our Young Workers Network is growing fast.
Energy
Workers in energy generation, transmission and distribution companies across the UK, including the growing renewables sector.
IT & Telecoms
People in wide-ranging roles in all the major UK firms in IT and telecoms.
Freelancers and self-employed
Providing support, guidance and expertise to over 20,000 self-employed members.
Sport
Sporting umpires, referees and ground staff. We’re actively involved with Women in Football.

We have members in software, coding, data analysis, AI, engineering and more, in both the private and public sector.
Transport
Members’ interests cut across aviation, road, rail and maritime transportation, as well as regulation and research.

Nearly 3,000 professionals in education, children’s services, early years, commissioning and children’s social care.

Forensic scientists to justices’ clerks, serious fraud investigators to prison service chaplains and psychological assistants.
